Places to Dine in ShoshoniWind River Visitors Council
Shoshoni in 1904 was a stop for the railroad. In 1905 the land around it was used for homesteading. The landrights had to be settled by troops. Few of the original structures remain because of the 1907 fires.
Shoshoni, a small community located on the edge of the Owl Creek Mountains, was named for the great Indian people- the Shoshone. Today it is a headquarters community for Boysen State Park.
