The community was named for a tall pine tree that served as a landmark for pioneers.

Taking 414 south from Ft. Bridger towards the Utah border. This fun little drive will show you what the southwest portion of Wyoming has to offer. If you do take 414 south it will lead into Utah and can poke back out at the flaming gorge reservoir with is a beautiful recreation area. A must see if your going to be heading that way.
