University of Wyoming Varsity Sports
UW competes at the NCAA Division I-A level, providing opportunities for outstanding athletic competition. As members of the tough Mountain West Conference, the Cowboys and Cowgirls regularly contest regional and national powers in basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, swimming, track, tennis, volleyball, and wrestling.
Club Sports
The 18 teams in our Club Sports Program are dominant forces not only in the Rocky Mountain region but also in competition against schools from across the nation.
In recent years, both the men’s and women’s Nordic ski teams have won national championships.
Intramural Sports
Nearly 6,000 students, faculty, staff, and spouses compete annually in more than 45 different sports, both traditional (basketball, softball, volleyball) and nontraditional (disc golf, inner-tube water polo, wallyball).
Rodeo Club
The UW Rodeo Club has a rich tradition not only in the region but also nationally. The men’s and women’s teams have finished among the top teams in recent College National Final Rodeos.
Open Recreation
Half Acre Gym, located in the center of campus, is the university's state-of-the-art health club for faculty, staff, student and family members.
