Brandie is a native of Torrington, Wyoming. She now lives on a ranch east of Cheyenne (Carpenter). This is her third national finals. Brandie rides a seven-year-old horse known as Slim. Hall’s career earnings total more than $650,000. Brandie trains all her horses from birth. She calls Slim “the man.” He’s already paid for the Halls’ family ranch, their trailers and pickups, and a college education for daughter, Shae, age four. This year Brandie won the ProTour rounds and averages at the Dodge City, Kansas Round Up and at Elllensburg, Washington. Brandie just made the cut for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo finishing 15th in the standings. She and Slim are healthy and ready to round the barrels and head for home: “It’s a simple thing but it can be as hard as you want to ride it – like anything else I guess. Sometimes walking and chewing gum is hard,” Halls said.
