Many of the homes in and around Pinedale are also constructed with native pine logs. The town is nestled on the western flank of the Wind River Mountain Range. Twelve-mile-long Fremont Lake, just three miles from town, provides the town’s water and recreation opportunities including sailing regattas to ice fishing derbies with towering peaks in the background. The Museum of the Mountain Man on the hill above town offers a fascinating look into the lives of Sublette County’s early explorers. Average summer temperatues range in the 70s and 80s with winter hovering around 15 degrees.
