Facilities and services are available at all five gateway communities; limited services and facilities are available at Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, Canyon, and Fishing Bridge. Snowmobile rentals are available at all five gateway communities, along with Mammoth Hot Springs, and Flagg Ranch.

Yellowstone Rules and Regulations
Snowmobile operators must have a valid state motor vehicle license in possession-(Persons possessing a learner's permit may not operate a snowmobile)
Maximum speed limit is 45 mph (72 kph) or less where posted or as conditions warrant; speed is checked by radar. Obey all speed limits and stop signs.
Drive on the right side of the road and in single file. When stopping, pull to the far right and park in a single file. Stay to the right even if the roads are rough.
Snowmobiles may be driven on designated roads only. Sidehilling, berm riding, or any off road travel is prohibited. Report all accidents to a ranger.
Operating a snowmobile while intoxicated is illegal. Possession of open alcoholic beverage containers, including bota bags, is illegal.
Snowmobiles must be registered according to state law. Mufflers, lights, brakes must be in good working condition.
Snowmobile exhaust and muffler systems must be in good working order. The maximum noise allowed is 78 decibels when measured during full acceleration at a distance of 50 feet.
Wild animals have the right of way. Stay at least 25 yards away from wildlife.
Entrance fees are required. A $15 entrance fee is required and may be purchased at any of the open gates. Passes are valid for 7 days and are good in both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
Multiple Riders. Multiple riders on a single sled are acceptable provided that it is done safely.
Of Wyoming's roughly 2,000 marked (and often groomed) snowmobile trails, the 675-mile Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail has been called the top snowmobile route in the West by SnoWest magazine. Wyoming has over 2000 miles of groomed and ungroomed trails.
The majority of the these trails are signed. Within the system there is a great diversity of trail riding and scenic qualities. There are numerous meadows with powder riding throughout the system. The snowmobile season is from December 1 thru April 1st. read more
