Jackson Hole Wyoming hit a new high last weekend opening its big red Christmas box. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Santa unveiled the new $31 million aerial tram while visitors waited and watched with much anticipation.

The new tram at Jackson Hole descended from the dark and was unveiled Friday December 19, 2008 to a crowd of over 2000. It is the most expensive and technical tramway to be built at a ski resort in the US. 4,139 vertical feet from the base terminal to the summit. It was welcomed with 20 new inches of snow at Jackson Hole, keeping the skiers and snowboarders powder skiing all weekend. One thing they all had on their wish list!

The new tram in Jackson Hole carries 100 passengers, nearly twice as many as the old one.
