Bennett Peak Campground

Directions: From I-80, take Wyo 130 and Wyo 230 south approximately 38 miles to Riverside, then Wyo 230 east 4 miles. Turn left onto County Road 660 and go 12 miles on graveled road to Bennett Peak Road (BLM Road 3404) and follow it 7 miles to the campground.

  • Main Attraction: North Platte River for fishing and floating.
  • Facilities: 11 campsites, vault toilet, hand pump well, boat ramp, day use parking, bank fishing accessible to persons with disabilities.
  • Fee: $10.00 per night per campsite. No day use or launch fee at present.
  • Use Season: June 1 - Nov 15 typical, but quite variable.
  • Each campsite contains: Picnic table, fire ring/grill, sandy tent pad, parking space. No pull-throughs.
  • Vegetation: Riparian area - cottonwoods, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, willows, juniper, mountain mahogany, wild rose.
  • Wildlife in general area: Bald eagle, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, wild turkey, mule deer, mountain lion, grouse, rattlesnakes, rainbow and brown trout.
  • Additional information: Reconstructed in 1996. Elevation 7,200 feet. Vehicles must stay on existing roads and 2-tracks.
  • No horses allowed in campground.

Nestled amid Ponderosas, cottonwoods and junipers in a North Platte River area, Bennett Peak offers a relaxing floating, fishing and camping experience. Come and enjoy wild Wyoming at its best.
