From a gravel pit to a recreational park, Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park has seen many improvments: nearly 27 acres of groomed ornamental areas, picnic shelters, group shelters for private and company functions,
playgrounds with modern climbing rocks,
horse-shoe pits, volleyball courts, basketball court and 2.8 miles of paved trails.
The swimming area is circled by shaded and
non-shaded beaches for the sun lovers and sun sensative visitors alike.
EKW has recently become an 'Audubon Wyoming Important Bird Area'; over 250 species can be seen at differant times of the year.
