Ponderosa Park is operated by Natrona County Parks and is a day use only park. An enclosed shelter can be used for picnicers in summer or as a warming hut for skiers and snowmobilers in the winter. Map
Ponderosa Park, acquired from the BLM, includes 2,460 acres of park area on
the east end of Casper Mountain. The park has some basic improvements, but
is predominantly in its natural state with streams, timber, sagebrush flats, and
cliffs.

- No fires
Uses
This is a primitive area with lots of area for hiking, biking and horseback riding. It is advisable to caution against driving a low-riding vehicle. Travel into the park by truck is recommended since the road to the park is not maintained.
If you really want to get away from the crowds, Ponderosa Park is the place to go with wide open space enough for everyone. The fall aspen leaves make this park an annual pilgrimage for many local residents.
