Scab Creek Campground

The Scab Creek Recreation Area: Is located in a beautiful and secluded lodge pole pine setting at 8,200 feet tucked in the foothills of the Wind River Mountains. This campground has 9 camp sites that include a fire pit and picnic table. The Scab Creek trail head is a major point of access to the Bridger-Teton Wilderness. Several non-maintained trails lead to local areas of interest. Activities: camping, backpacking, day hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, hunting, and fishing. Facilities: road access, 3 pull-through sites, parking areas, horse corrals, horse staging area, camping area with tables, fire rings, and toilet. Things to Note: Non-fee area No electric or waste dump Closed to human presence Nov 15th- April 30th Bear Country Good gravel road may be blocked by snow until mid-May Stay limit 14 days Motorized vehicles limited to existing roads and trails Season of use is May 1st until Nov 15th Wilderness study area No potable water
