Built in 1929 by the Wyeth pharmaceuticals family, The Lodge at Trapper Creek was designed as a posh summer home and hunting lodge for their Trapper Creek Ranch. Completely restored to its former grandeur by the Flitners in 2003, yet with modern amenities, the Lodge operated primarily as a Supper Club and has become a popular site for weddings and family reunions, or corporate events.
The historic Lodge features three luxurious executive suites adjoining the main dining area. Additional guests can be accommodated in the Guesthouse. Also nearby is the original ranch house that served as one of the first Wyoming dude ranches; which the Flitners also intend to restore. The main section of this log structure consists of hand-hewn beams from the original settler of 1892. Renowned outdoorsmen who have stayed at Trapper Creek Ranch include Theodore Roosevelt; Owen Wister, as he worked on his well-known novel, The Virginian; and visiting fellow author, Ernest Hemmingway. Accommodating groups up to 75 indoors and many more if you choose to use the beautiful grounds surrounding the Lodge.
The Trapper Creek Lodge is home to the Trapper Creek Supper Club. The Chef prides himself in preparing every menu item from scratch using the best available ingredients. Seventeen years of culinary experience, a well educated palette, courteous and well trained staff, and the beauty that only Shell can provide combine to make a memorable dining experience for our guests.
