Wyoming Travel & Tourism created a unique video sweepstakes at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December promoting two of Wyoming’s popular rodeos; Cheyenne Frontier Days and Cody/Yellowstone Extreme Bulls. In addition, consumers could enter online for a separate trip to Cheyenne Frontier Days. The video contest winner for Cheyenne Frontier Days went to Cassidy Cabot of Bayfield, CO. The winner of the Cody/Yellowstone Xtreme Bulls went to Cindy McQuay of Lancaster, CA and the online Cheyenne Frontier Days package went to Bob and Susan Stempinski of Beecher, IL.
Tourism staff interviewed rodeo fans during the first weekend of Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas by asking, “Why would you like to win a trip to Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo or the Cody/Yellowstone Xtreme Bulls?” Eighteen entries were submitted with 2,500 views to the site and the top winners receiving a total of 98 votes each. Entries are still available for viewing at www.wyomingrodeosweeps.com.
Cassidy Cabot is an upcoming rodeo queen who has never been to Cheyenne Frontier Days, “I met Miss Rodeo Wyoming, Stacy Jo Johnson, last summer and she really encouraged me to visit Cheyenne Frontier Days but I have never had the opportunity until now. I’m just really excited that I won.”

Cindy McQuay recently purchased an RV with her husband and planned to travel as much as possible before retirement and was ecstatic to win the Cody Xtreme Bulls package, “We have always wanted to go to Cody and the best part is that July 1 is my birthday so we are going to extend our trip and stay an entire week.”

Bob and Susan Stepinski picked up a card with the entry information on it at Cowboy Christmas and entered online, “We were so surprised to get the call that we had won, we were not sure if it was real. We are big rodeo fans and have always wanted to go to Cheyenne Frontier Days but have never made it…I guess we will this year.”
The two sweepstakes are a part of the Cowboy Marketing Program that promotes professional rodeo athletes and the sport of rodeo in Wyoming. Wyoming Travel & Tourism runs online sweepstakes throughout the year promoting seasonal activities. Currently visitors can enter to win a Jackson Hole Ski Getaway or a Wyoming Snowmobile Vacation at www.wyomingtourism.org.
