The town of Daniel located in the Green River Valley was settled in 1899 by Thomas Pixley Daniel, although it was not incorporated until Feb. 1, 1900. Just west of Daniel at the confluence of the Green River and Horse Creek is one of the original sites of the fur traders and Indians rendezvous. Beginning in the 1930's the reenactments of the Green River Rendezvous were held at this site. . The old Daniel School house which is registered as a national historic landmark is now the Daniel Community Center.
