Wapiti Valley

The Wapiti Valley or East Yellowstone Valley lies between Cody, WY and the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park on highway US 14-16-20. This 50 mile section of road is designated the Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway. Passing through some of the most scenic areas in Wyoming, including the Buffalo Bill Dam, Buffalo Bill State Park and the Shoshone National Forest (our nation’s first),  be sure to watch for wildlife and interesting rock formations. Services include guest and dude ranches, motels, campgrounds, restaurants, and a gas station. Recreational activities are abundant (hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, fishing, photography, rafting and boating, mountain biking, hunting and many others). The Wapiti Valley area makes a convenient home-base for visiting Yellowstone.
