Annual Festivals: September Fest, Sun Art Festival both held the second Saturday in September
Torrington is where Wyoming began with the Oregon, Mormon and Texas Cattle trails all converging on the North Platte River. Here pioneers found the historic Bordeaux and other trading posts as they traveled westward. The Homesteader's Museum provides a glimpse back into 1880 life. The area is a bird hunter's paradise with complete family travel accommodations.
Don't Miss: Fort Laramie National Historic Site, located 20 miles northwest of town, is the state's oldest garrisoned post. See informative videos about the fort and take audio tours through the restored buildings. And watch for special events with live reenactments throughout the summer. http://www.nps.gov/fola
